Rumor Confirmation Needed
I was told the other day that a large bloc of nuns left Mother Angelica's order? I've found nothing via Google. Can anyone confirm this?

LOL, the first time I read your post for some reason I read "a large block of nuts" just came back to this and realized you wrote nuns.
I really would not be surprised if this were true. After Vatican II it is extremely easy to start a religious order due to Canon 605. Additionally, most bishops do not really monitor what is going on in the groups they are approving. I know firsthand because I was involved with a group that had such problems. Many of the religious members of this group were really damaged by their experiences with it.
The main problem in these new religious orders is the mixing of the internal and external forums and the blurring of the distinction of the roles of superior, confessor, and spiritual director. I am NOT saying that this is the case with this order, but I have researched this issue quite extensively and I have seen that in many cases these are the issues.
Peter Vere wrote a good article on the warning signs of problems in the "new movements".

Re: Rumor Confirmation Needed
This was all I could find:
http://blog.al.com/living-news/2010/12/mother_angelicas_our_lady_of_t.htmlCurrently there are 23 nuns living at Our Lady of the Angels Monastery in Hanceville. Sister Marie St. John's younger sister, Melissa Gilbert, graduated from Mountain Brook High School in 1991 and also joined the monastery. Now known as Sister Esther, she lives with several other nuns trying to establish a new monastery in Phoenix.
