Fr. Corapi press release from SOLT- Absolute bombshell
http://soltnews.blogspot.com/2011/07/press-release-concerning-fr-john-corapi.html
I think the Church authorities need to keep an eye on new religious orders. Why Fr. Corapi was ever let to live on his own when he had the history that he did was not prudent. Let's face it most of us have returned to our vomit of our past sins before so let's not look down on Fr. Corapi.
When you have had a drug problem and lived a wild life in the past (as is evidenced by his public testimony which is so popular) those old habits are hard to break. Someone with that history really should have the support of a community or possibly not admitted to the priesthood in the first place.
I was never really a Fr. Corapi "fan" but I am really sad to hear this news.

Ya Know, I find it strange that SOLT would go into such fine detail on Corapi's immoral activities. It would have sufficed to have said that he was involved in activities unbecoming for a priest.
What position does Rev. Gerard Sheehan hold within SOLT? The title given in the release is that of Regional Priest.
After reporting these findings, he then becomes unavailable for comment for at least 2 weeks.
I find the whole report strange.

Seems to me that he is going to be a neo-connish Fox News type radio personality, with heavy emphasis on military and patriotism, perhaps along the lines of Rush, Sean Hannity, etc.

The Harley Davidson jacket, white pants and dyed-black goatee says it all.
Maybe a late, mid-life crisis going on but definitely a cry for prayer.
O Holy Mary, conceived without original sin, refuge of priests and religious, pray for them to Jesus.

Columba, do you think the real Fr. Corapi could have been kidnapped by the Freemasons and replaced by an imposter?
If you compare photographs of the 'old' Fr Corapi with photos of the 'new' Fr. Corapi they seem very different (lol).

Nice to hear from you again Simple Faith. Quite a low key entrance you've made . I thought you would have made your reappearance in one of the more heated threads (lol).
I take it your remarks were in jest but in fact you may not be too far off the truth. I would say that Fr Corapi is an indirect casualty of free masonry. Let me explain: The goal of free masonry (as we all know) was ,and is the destruction of the Catholic Faith and to that end it has employed various means of infiltration and succeded in too many ways.
The bottom line: Fr Corapi was a conservative N O priest, and, there's only one of two ways a priest can go from there. Either he will end up a tradionalists (the good road) or he'll end up abandoning his priesthood altogether (the bad road).
I have more respect for Fr Corapi than I have for those who've abandoned their faith but remain as practicing priests while being apostates. I could rhyme you of a list of such in my own diocese but I don't think that would achieve anything here. Fr Corapi (to my knowledge) has never preached anything heretical, and even if he has fallen in other ways he still remains a Catholic. How long he can remain so in his present circumstances remains to be seen but this could well be the place where he finds a true reconversion and for this I pray.
The total colapse of discipline within the post Vat2 Church makes the everyday ministry work of a priest more like a spiritual minefield, from open confessionals, woman-led parish councils (the same having lost all sense of modesty and with no healthy respect for the ordination vows of the priest) and the N O Mass itself with the total breakdown of reverence, modesty of dress and its inter-genderism (excuse me for makng up words) that denies the differences between the sexes (as Fr Corapi himself used to point out).
Well I could go on and on but you know where I'm going (another rant).
Regarding the physical appearance of Fr Corapi; no doubt it has changed but the change is only cosmetic. No doubt if I were a Facial Reconstruction Surgeon ( or a lay man) I could deduce that this is indeed the same man we saw with a collar not so long ago.

Re: Fr. Corapi press release from SOLT- Absolute bombshell
Good points as always, Columba. I don't think Fr. Corapi ever said anything formally heretical. I do have a clip of a talk of his though which is problematic in regards to Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus. I think he subscribes to the EWTN/Catholic Answers line on salvation, though.
