I'm on volume 3 of Philip Hughes "The Reformation in England". In one of the earlier volumes, the author states that the persecution under Henry VIII, awful as it was, should not be exaggerated. The persecutions in Germany and Spain were far worse, costing Germany 100,000 lives, for example. So, does anyone know of a classic book on this part of German or Spanish history?
