I was in Europe when this came out. It was played everywhere. It is actually a Moldavian group. It is one of those songs that is just such crap that you come to love it. LOL

(Hey this is cool, you can embed on this forum but apparently this youtube video is prohibited from embedding.)

By the way that gold standard one is ironic, because nowadays the crazy one would be the one who is saying go back to the gold standard, lol.

Duckbill, you posted 3 of my favorites. Thanks. The Bad Vicar one from Paul (above) is my favorite. “Are you testing me, Satan?” lol

“Aren’t you all entitled to your half assed musings on the Divine. You’ve thought about eternity for 25 minutes and think you’ve come to some interesting conclusions. . . . your internet assembled philosophy.”

I love it.

Nadie? No chance, I'd say, and maybe that isn't all bad. I have had zero contact with him since he left, but it was my understanding that he felt that forum life wasn't good for his soul, and maybe that was the truth and if so, godspeed. He's a good man. My own personal opinion... let him go his path. He was a lot of fun, but I actually sorta agreed with his course of action, for his sake that is... the reason being, the stuff that saves our souls may or may not have anything to do with the passing nature of the internet, while at the same time, I'd be a fool to pretend that the net has no value in the overall picture. Let him go his way in peace would be my take on it. In all we do, the positive benefit to others, ultimately expressed in obtaining salvation, has to be the overriding concern. Nothing else matters.

Thank you for the Founder status, but I'm not Founder material, never have been, never desired it and actually thank God for that. You can, however, call me Dude. "Village Idiot" is a bit harsh no matter how true it may be, but "Village Dude" is just borerline superficial enough for me to like it... a lot.

I apologize to anyone whom I have offended in the past. Yes, I do obstinately stick to my opinions... ha!

I hope this is ok with management. Also, pardon my musical tastes.

The little Mexican boy you see at ten seconds into the video was saved from abortion by my Latin Mass buddy you see at the BBQ. I thought the 60 mph winds were beautiful that day and managed to capture a bit of it.

Here's something I heard on someone's Sirius satellite radio system while doing a sidejob, and liked it enough to write it down to look up on Youtube. Couldn't find the studio version, but in a way, the live version is better with the lowdown naturalness and stuff.

A couple of comments on the video I put on my page on the evil Facebook:

I've come to believe that the glory of intellectual victory pales by comparison to the glory of the humility of everyday loyalty. St. Joseph wouldn't have had it any other way, the greatest and most forgotten saint.

This man in a very simplistic way ties together Calvary with daily duty. Another thing he does here is point out, roughly, that the daily duty of those in a state of union with Christ becomes something far different than wasted toil but something of a prayer. All the saints taught the same. It is at 1:17 on the video. Truth is everywhere... you just reach out your hand and you find it.

1:25 in the video I guess, not 1:17. The "new creature" comment... duty within the context of being a new creature (incorporation into the Mystical Body).

The Fun Youtube Thread Empty Bill Maher: "We Need To Promote Death"

Post  MRyan Sat Oct 13, 2012 9:15 pm

Some may not consider this "fun", but I can only laugh at the "Comedian" Bill Maher, "he of the perpetual smirk".

As someone recently said, "But Maher ain’t no average American. He’s a super-rich fat cat, one of the 1%, maybe even the 1% of the 1%. His smirking pretense at defending the middle class is a sham, since he’s living the multi-millionaire Hollywood lifestyle while taking huge tax subsidies from poor people.

Words like 'hypocrite' don’t even begin to describe people like Bill Maher."

Here is a link and article by Forbes:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/mikeozanian/2012/06/04/bill-maher-gets-huge-tax-subsidy-from-the-poor-with-his-investment-in-mets/

Bill Maher Gets Huge Tax Subsidy From The Poor With His Investment In Mets

by Mike Ozanian, Forbes Staff

Comedian Bill Maher loves to poke fun at Republicans for being against the middle class (see video below [not included here]). Yet with his investment in the New York Mets Maher is getting a huge subsidy from low-income tax payers who helped finance Citi Field, the team’s stadium.

The total cost of Citi Field was $831 million. Of that amount the owners of the Major League Baseball team are paying $135 million and the public is paying $614 million (see table below). The new stadium is exempt from New York City’s property tax because it sits on public land and is legally owned by a subsidiary of the city’s Industrial Development Agency which leases the stadium to the Mets.

The Mets will make annual payments in lieu of taxes (PILOT), that is used to pay debt service on the construction financing rather than flow into the city’s coffers in place of the foregone property tax. The City of New York Independent Budget Office estimated value of the exemption is based on a 2010 market value of $543 million ($444 million cost of construction plus $99 million land value). IBO estimates that this exemption generates savings to the Mets of $72 million (present value) over 40 years.

The IBO believes the bond financing, direct subsidies and exemptions for Citi Field will save the Mets $276 million and cost the city $155 million in forgone revenue and the state $89 million.

I am sure Maher really does believe rich folks should pay more in taxes. Except when it comes to building a stadium.
