TLM in southern Oregon...No
I noted in another thread that a group of people in my area were putting together a petition to present to a local pastor requesting a TLM. Well, the petition was turned in last week, and the recent written reply from the pastor said something to the effect that he was making no changes at the parish for a year ( "a year of discovery"), so his answer is "No". I don't know what the next step will be since I am not one of the writers of the petition. It appears, however, that establishing an Una Voce chapter may be the next step. So, at this point, Summorum Pontificum is irrelevant to southern Oregon. My hope is that these Catholics who wrote the petition will not turn tail and run. If it's not worth fighting for, than I really have no use for any of them. Frankly, I wouldn't mind seeing it get good and nasty if for no other reason than to raise the awareness of the liturgical-Naziism that has such a grip here.

Your's isn't the only area that "liturgical-Naziism" reigns supreme. How well I remember what it was like in the sixties...no foot dragging back then. Zip. Zip. Instant new church, seemingly overnight.

Re: TLM in southern Oregon...No
The ugliness continues...
Friday, I learned that the priest who offers the EF Mass in private, and was willing to offer it publicly for us, has been transferred out of the local parish in which he has resided for the last 2 months. He does not know the reason for his transfer. As of today, he does not even know where he is being sent. He will be out next Friday. The people with whom I've spoken with at his parish suspect that the TLM petition was the final straw, as this priest was the polar opposite of his liberal pastor already. It's easier to just get rid of a priest than to have to deal with Ecclesia Dei, I guess. Smart move if you're a lib.
