Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus? There is!
I've just registered this day, My Christian Name is Mark Steven Eccles, I turned My back on The church in 1980 and locked Myself out, Hello world, 16yrs old, time to find out who I am, reason I left the Church was because the Vatican banned The Latin Mass and I've not looked back since,
Ecclesiastes 3
A Time for Everything
1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

My friend Roguejim may be leaving, but as for me, this place gets more "fun" everyday.
Welcome, Scythian. Can't wait to see what you throw in the pot. I might not partake of a bowl, but it should fill the air with quite an aroma.

Latin Mass
ok it's been restricted in the UK...the vatican didn't ban it but when I left school in 1980 no more was there to be Latin mass in the UK, my info is out of date by 5 years but I have not been back to a RC Church sinse 1980,
The Tridentine Mass was never banned by the Vatican, although it was restricted in many places. The intention was always that the old liturgy should continue where it was appropriate, but that for most churches the new liturgy would more suitable.
On 11th October 2006 The Times reported that:
Pope Benedict XVI is understood to have signed a universal indult - or permission - for priests to celebrate again the Mass used throughout the Church for nearly 1,500 years. The indult could be published in the next few weeks, sources told The Times.
Ruth Gledhill, The Times (London) 11 October 2006
On 7th July 2007 BBC News reported that Pope Benedict had lifted restrictions on celebrating the Mass, although the Church believes the majority of its congregation will continue to hear Mass in their local languages.
