The Cristeros
Did anyone see the movie as yet?
I've read a few reviews from some who have already seen it and it looks to be worth the viewing though I would imagine that the movie could not do justice to the true extent and horror of the persecution experienced by the Church in Mexico at that time.
A good sermon on the subject at Audio Sancto helps give an understanding of the events and would be worth listening to before seeing the movie.
It seems that the Cristeros who were so close to victory were sold out by the heirarchy who made a compromise with the Freemason authorities (in other words, the devil) and left the Mexicans in the same position as they were before the uprising.
Here's the link to the sermon.

Re: The Cristeros
The movie hasn't been released in this corner of the world as yet but I obtained a copy (dvd) last week and I say, How do I become a Cristero?
Seriously, even if our faith-dwindling generation should miraculously evade the crown of martyrdom I can't see the next generation evading it.
I was reading up on the life (short life) of blessed José Sánchez (the young martyred cristero) and wondered how any young man in today's conciliar Church could manage to muster up the courage to lay down his life for Christ. What zeal could one conjure up to defend his place of worship from an enemy without when that place of worship has already been ransacked with no resistance by "friends" from within?
Still, there will always be a few from the ranks of the remnant.
To quote blessed José Sánchez, "Never has it been so easy to get to heaven."
