“Entry of the Bible at the Basilica of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Aparecida, Brazil, during the "Solemn Novena" in preparation for her feast day (October 12). This scene took place on October 5, 2012.
This Basilica is the largest shrine dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary in the whole world.”
And we wonder why S. American Catholics are leaving in droves for Evangelical/Protestant Churches?

I'm afraid to ask: was the music overdubbed?

Re: Beyond parody
I don't think so. Listen to the background music/organ in this video (same Shrine), it appears to emanate from the same source:tornpage wrote:I'm afraid to ask: was the music overdubbed?
Btw, not a single person in the entire Church, including clergy, bows (let alone kneels) as the Blessed Sacrament passes by.
Apparently, Jesus is our "buddy", at whose Name, and in whose Presence, every knee shall bend - not.

Re: Beyond parody
That music is part of the "mass"?
This is about the worst I've seen.

Re: Beyond parody
Actually, I'm hoping that the music was dubbed in. I can hardly believe they would play such Barnum and Bailey drivel, but, unfortunately, it fits with the clownish atmosphere and spinning acrobats.tornpage wrote:That music is part of the "mass"?

Hey, must be a "cultural" thing.

Re: Beyond parody
The hymn in the second video was often sang in our parish as the recessional hymn back in the day.
Re the circus atmosphere.
We stand for God and for His glory,
The Lord supreme and God of all
Against His foes we raise His standard,
Around the cross we hear His call.
Strengthen our faith, Redeemer,
Guard us when danger is nigh.
To Thee we pledge our lives and service
Strong in a trust that ne’er shall die
To Thee we pledge our lives and service
Strong in a trust that ne’er shall die
We stand for God, Jesus our Master
Has saved the world with love untold
His law divine and truth unchanging
In this our land their place must hold!
We stand for God, let us be loyal,
Our love proclaim with ev’ry breath
To Christ our King and Lord of Lords,
We will be faithful unto death.
