Did Pope John Paul II really say this???
Wow, what an incredible statement (if true):
http://catholicism.org/living-magisterium.html
"In the minds of people everywhere, this infallible teaching of the Church is inseparable from the name of Father Leonard Feeney. To clear the good name of that holy priest is a necessary and salutary first step toward full restoration of the 'Dogma of Faith' and the authority of the Church."
I trust the St. Benedict Center to get things right, but you all know the old saying, "If something sounds too good to be true, then..."
Any sources on this? Historical validation is requested.

No, Pope JPII did not say that. Those are the words of Br. Anthony Mary Claret.
While the article does not mark where the citation of JPII ends, the actual quote of JPII begins and ends five paragraphs previous to the cited closing paragraph.

Re: Did Pope John Paul II really say this???
Fair enough. Okay, would it be true to say that Pope John Paul II said,
"We are the guardians of something given, and given to the Church universal; something which is not the result of reflection, however competent, on cultural and social questions of the day, and is not merely the best path among many, but the one and only path to salvation."
Clearly, that article needs some work.

If JPII said something like that about Fr. Feeney I think that would be the main heading on their website, not buried in some article from 2005.
