Please pray for my friend from college, and the repose of the souls of her mother and nephew who died yesterday in a car accident--her nephew was only 5. Pray also for her family as they cope with the sudden deaths.

"For Yolanda de Jesus who lost a 19yr old grandson this past week [for the repose of his soul]. For the young man’s parents and all the family, all of whom are grieving so much the loss of his young life.
For Robert Fowler, in Hospice facility on Sunbeam Rd/Jacksonville, in final stages of liver cancer and for his wife Terry and children. He was working up through May 24th, went to the hospital and tests revealed advanced liver cancer. Went from ICU to hospice. May the Lord, whom he adored every week on Tuesdays 4-5am before going to work, keep Robert in His care and welcome him home when it is his time to leave us."
Thank you

Re: Prayer Request Thread
Dear friends,
Thank you for remembering these prayer intentions. I have a relatively new extended family; and it includes all the members of our Perpetual Adoration community. Thank you for allowing me to ask for your prayers on their behalf.
There is something both sad and consoling when I learn of the death of one our adorers, and we have a large enough community that these announcements are not that uncommon. I’ve noticed too that in recent cases, our Lord seems intent on taking these souls quite unexpectedly (the death previous to Mr. Fowler was a boating accident). Both of the recently deceased were adorers for seven consecutive years.
If you will allow me this anecdotal digression; the grace to become an adorer began with reading the experiences of a couple of posters on the previous forum; and they know who they are. I had the “intention” of following through, but always had an excuse. One day a direct appeal came (at Mass) via the wonderful leader of our adoration community who was in need of an adorer for one of the middle of the night mid-week hours.
I knew my number was up – our Lord seemed to be asking me what my excuse was going to be this time - so I called the organizer and have been at it ever since.
So, to those two old friends, thank you; God used you to plant the seed. He did the rest. All I know is that this poor sinner was, and remains, in desperate need of this one hour before our Lord. Like with some of you; the burdens of this life and the heartbreak of having family members fall away from the Faith is a burden that I sometimes find difficult to bear – with a long estrangement from my sons being particularly painful. I will see my un-baptized grandson (14 months old) for the first time this coming fall. Grandpa has to promise not to talk about “religion” (that’s like asking me not to breathe).
I will remember all of you and your intentions during my hour. Please pray for me and mine.
I pray for forgiveness for anyone I have ever hurt with this acerbic tongue and big mouth that doesn’t always know when to keep shut.
IHM,
Mike

God bless you, Mike. I am so happy that you are able to be a regular adorer, truly a blessing.
(fwiw) I will keep you and your intentions in my prayers. I can't imagine how difficult and how painful estrangement from your sons (and all that entails) must be. Don't give up the hope that they will come back to the Faith and that your relationship can be restored...I will pray specifically for this intention(s).
Please pray for me and my household as well, there have been some disturbances as of late and peace doesn't seem to be reigning as it should, unfortunately.
I will pray for all of you on here as well. For me, that is the most important aspect of any forum. Supporting one another with prayer.
God bless,
Allie

I can relate...what else is there in this life?
God bless you, Mike, for your integrity and sincerity, two qualities that are quickly disappearing in this lunatic world.
Say a prayer for me, please, that the Holy Ghost, in honor of the tremendous feast of Pentecost, finally dispels the confusion in my mind regarding His Church. I am making a novena for this intention, and would appreciate the charity of your prayers as well.

I too Lourdes have made a novena of rosaries for the same intention. It started as a nine day novena and turned into a nine month one. The rosary is the only piece of solid ground I can find through this confusion and I daren't abandon it.
If it weren't for the confusion we probably wouldn't have these forums.
Prayers for you Lourdes, Mike and everyone here.

Your prayers, Columba, are appreciated more than you could ever know. I've been going through this for almost two years now. Many novenas have been said too. I never get a definite answer.
I will pray you have better "success".

Will do.
Yes, Columba, the Rosary is my anchor too.
And to all here: I join you in pray for guidance through this crisis. Amen.

DeSelby,
I will pray for you. It is easy to become despondent these days. I fight hard against it too at times. I know only too well what it feels like to think that all is lost and you are hanging somewhere between heaven and earth with no support from either place.
God bless you, and I will remember you at Holy Mass as well!

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Thine mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Thy holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.

Lourdes, yes, you describe it all too well. It is a great comfort to know we're not alone in those struggles. Thank you again.

"I love the Church. It's some of the people I can't stand."
I've found that if I remember to "trust no man", then I find that the crisis in the Church affects me to a much lesser degree. Less anger. Less disappointment. Less shock. I'm still cynical, but I don't get torn down so easily. Find a eucharistic adoration chapel if you can, and avail yourselves of it. There's little else you can do.

Re: Prayer Request Thread
Please lift up this prayer intention to the Divine Mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Little 5 yr old Marco begins his heavy chemo and radiation today in Portland to lower his immune system so his body will not reject the bone marrow transplant from his big brother that will happen on Sept 13th. He will be in isolation for four weeks after the transplant and his mother will be in isolation with him during this time. They will then continue to stay in Portland for three more months, away from Medford and his family. Please keep Marco and his entire family in your prayers and pray for healing of this lymphoma cancer! Marco will also be on ten medicines for the next entire year. Marco started fighting this cancer two years ago, it went in remission and is now back! He can win this fight!
Also, prayers for a trad-Catholic/Feeneyite writer for various periodicals, and author of a fine Marian book who has apostatized. Being the sole caregiver of his/her invalid mother for years apparently took its toll, finally. Is he/she mad at God? Perhaps. Never the less, he/she now embraces Buddha and Confucius. I will not divulge his/her name now since he/she has not attacked the Church since leaving.

Too sad for words, RJ. I think little Marco is in better shape in the light of faith than the second soul you asked prayers for.
Will add both to my own prayers. Please let me know if there are any updates on either one.

I think it's necessary at this point to head off any rumors concerning the Catholic writer who has apostatized. It is most definitely NOT William Biersach, with whom I speak regularly.

I don't mean to derail this thread, but the next time you speak to that fine man, tell him I never laughed so hard reading a book as I did reading his Fr. John Baptist books. Sometimes I didn't know whether to laugh or cry!!

Re: Prayer Request Thread
Everyone,
Please pray for the repose of my cousin Lori's soul, who died yesterday evening. She was not a Catholic, although, she was, as far as I know, baptized. I would have posted this earlier, but Lori's death made national (and, to an extent, world) news, and as the military has not yet released her name, I thought it best to wait until the government had done that. At this hour, they have not. Here is the news story:
http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/injuries-reported-explosion-ca-marine-base-15512194#.Ty31hIFsiSo
Our entire family has known of her death now for over 14 hours, so I do not think that there is any left in the extended clan who needs to be informed. I am not sure why the government is delaying the release of information, but they are. In any case, please pray for Lori and the everlasting salvation of her eternal, immortal soul.
I have complete confidence in this group in keeping her (and me!) out of Hell.
Thanks and Blessings,
Don
