I just had to bite the bullet and pay to remove the ads. I logged into the forum this morning and there was a HUGE porn ad in the top banner. There is no way that I can run this site with a huge occasion of sin on the top of it.

Yeah. Don't worry about it. It only cost $21 bucks to disable ads for the whole year.

Basically the way these forums work is you have credits that you can buy that will get you certain features, for example disabling ads or getting a specific domain name. Anyone can donate money that will buy these credits and then they can be used for different things. Really none of the features that you pay for are really worth it except for the disabling of the ads.

I think it is quite dishonest the way this works because most people (such as myself) would not have a problem with ads on the site if they were normal (Like the other day I was getting ads for SAAB cars, we can live with that) but obviously we cannot have a website with porno ads on it. I think they throw the porno ads in there so that you are forced to pay to disable them.

At the same time $25 for a whole year is not that bad a deal and in general I think this forum has some nice features. I just hope they will not start like spamming us with private messages or something and then say that you have to pay to disable that.

There are a few other Catholic forums on this service and I have been checking them out as far as how to run things.

Oh by the way you may wonder how I am on the forum so much, LOL. I actually took this week off from work and I finished school last week. It was actually kind of providential that Pascendi decided to nuke his forum on the day when my vacation began, otherwise I might not have had the time to start this one up.

In general I think this forum (in regards to this group of people) has helped me out a lot psychologically simply for that fact of being able to "fellowship" with other like-minded people. "It is not good for man to be alone."
