I do not know if this is authentic or not. It's something that I am going to look into further:

April 4, 2011 - Wednesday in Holy Week - "Spy Wednesday"

Pope Leo XIII in 1884 Penned the Prayer to St. Michael to Cast down Satan
And Ordered that It Be Recited after Every Low Mass
He Did So after Having Received a Revelation that in 75-100 Years Satan Would Destroy the Church
75 Years Later John XXIII Became Pope
78 Years Later the Modernist Vatican II Council Began
85 Years Later the Invalid and Grace-killing Protestant-Masonic-Pagan New Order Service
Had Entirely Replaced the Traditional Latin Mass in the Newchurch of the New Order

On October 13, 1884, Pope Leo XIII had just finished celebrating Mass in a chapel in the Vatican. At the Mass were a few cardinals and members of the household staff. Suddenly the Pope stopped dead at the foot of the altar. He stood there for about ten minutes as if in a trance, his face ashen white. Then going straightway from the chapel to his office, he composed the prayer to St. Michael the Archangel and later ordered that it be recited after all Low Masses everywhere in the world.

Pope Leo explained that, as he was about to leave the foot of the altar, he had suddenly heard voices -- two voices, one kind and gentle, the other guttural and harsh. He heard the voice of Satan in his pride, boasting to the Lord: "I can destroy your Church." Then the gentle voice of Our Lord: "You can? Then go ahead and do so." Satan replied, "To do so, I need more time and more power." The Lord said, "How much time? How much power?" "75 to 100 years, and a greater power over those who will give themselves over to my service," was Satan’s reply. Mysteriously Our Lord said, "You have the time, you have the power. Do with them what you will."

75 years later John XXIII became pope. 78 Years Later the Modernist Vatican II Council began. 85 years later "the smoke of Satan," according to the Conciliar pope Paul VI-Montini, was introduced into the Newchurch of the New Order: the invalid and grace-killing Protestantized Novus Ordo service of 1969, the previous year having seen the invalidation of the priesthood with the Protestantized New Ordinal of 1968. From this point on in the Newchurch of the New Order, a Protestant-Masonic-Pagan service, not a Mass, has been performed by presbyters, not priests.

In such a Satanic milieu, Pope Leo's prayers, augmented by those of other traditional popes, were suppressed. The Novus Ordo did away with the Leonine Prayers, including the three Aves, the Salve Regina, the Prayer for the conversion of sinners and for the freedom and exaltation of the Church, and, most especially, the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel to cast down Satan.

Good Catholics, is it any wonder that sinners are becoming more and more unrepentant, the true Church is waning almost to nothingness, and Satan has become more and more powerful? That is what Vatican II, the Novus Ordo, and the Modernist Benedict-Ratzinger and his cohorts did when they chose to fall under the influence of Satan, just as that Enemy predicted.

If true, this is an incredible revelation, something that I never heard about before, and if it is, indeed, true, then it is certainly something that the "sedes" should add to their list of arguments. For this revelation, if authentic, was post-Vatican I, and clearly, Pope Leo XIII, who was wholly orthodox (indeed, Mike has quoted from his encyclicals), saw no contradiction between the private revelation which he received and the dogmatic pronouncements of the First Vatican Council.

Jehanne.

The story of Pope Leo XIII vision can be found on many sites including EWTN.

Here's one such site. It's a blog by a Anglican convert who has appeared a few times on EWTN so it's not just Traditionalists who know of this.

Here's the full prayer of Pope Leo:

O Glorious Archangel St. Michael, Prince of the
heavenly host, be our defense in the terrible warfare
which we carry on against principalities and powers,
against the rulers of this world of darkness, and
spirits of evil. Come to the aid of man, whom God
created immortal, made in His own image and likeness,
and redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of the
devil. Fight this day the battle of the Lord, together
with the holy angels, as already thou hast fought the
leader of the proud angels, Lucifer, and his apostate
host, who were powerless to resist Thee, nor was there
place for them any longer in heaven. That cruel, that
ancient serpent, who is called the devil or Satan, who
seduces the whole world, was cast into the abyss with
his angels.

Behold, this primeval enemy and slayer of men has
taken courage. Transformed into an angel of light, he
wanders about with all the multitude of wicked
spirits, invading the earth in order to blot out the
name of God and of His Christ, to seize upon, slay and
cast into eternal perdition souls destined for the
crown of eternal glory. This wicked dragon pours out,
as a most impure flood, the venom of his malice on
men; his depraved mind, corrupt heart, his spirit of
lying, impiety, blasphemy, his pestilential breath of
impurity and of every vice and iniquity. These most
crafty enemies have filled and inebriated with gall
and bitterness the Church, the Spouse of the
Immaculate Lamb, and have laid impious hands on her
most sacred possessions. In the Holy Place itself,
where has been set up the See of the most holy Peter
and the Chair of Truth for the light of the world,
they have raised the throne of their abominable
impiety, with the iniquitous design that when the
Pastor has been struck, the sheep may be scattered.

Arise then, O invincible Prince, bring help against
the attacks of the lost spirits to the people of God,
and give them the victory. They venerate Thee as their
protector and patron; in Thee Holy Church glories as
her defense against the malicious power of hell; to
Thee has God entrusted the souls of men to be
established in heavenly beatitude. Oh, pray to the God
of peace that He may put Satan under our feet, so far
conquered that he may no longer be able to hold men in
captivity and harm the Church. Offer our prayers in
the sight of the Most High, so that they may quickly
conciliate the mercies of the Lord; and beating down
the dragon, the ancient serpent who is the devil and
Satan, do Thou again make him captive in the abyss,
that he may no longer seduce the nations. Amen.

V. Behold the Cross of the Lord; be scattered, hostile
powers.
R. The Lion of the tribe of Judah has conquered, the
root of David.
V. Let Thy mercies be upon us, O Lord
R. As we have hoped in Thee.
V. O Lord, hear my prayer.
R. And let my cry come unto Thee

LET US PRAY
God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we call upon
Thy holy name, and we humbly implore Thy clemency,
that by the intercession of Mary, ever Virgin
Immaculate and our Mother, and of the glorious
Archangel St. Michael, Thou wouldst deign to help us
against Satan and all other unclean spirits, who
wander about the world for the injury of the human
race and the ruin of souls. Amen.

Pope Leo XIII, 1888

More urban raddie traddie and sede legend, right up there with the old “Rome will lose the Faith and become the seat of the Anti-Christ” foolishness.

Even the “The Smoke of Satan" homily of Pope Paul VI has been taken completely out of context to mean the opposite of what he actually said, for example, here, where Fr. Stephanos Pedrano provides an analysis of the homily of Pope Paul VI:

This state of uncertainty even holds sway in the Church. There was the belief that after the Council there would be a day of sunshine for the history of the Church. Instead, it is the arrival of a day of clouds, of tempest, of darkness, of research, of uncertainty. We preach ecumenism but we constantly separate ourselves from others. We seek to dig abysses instead of filling them in.

How has this come about? The Pope entrusts one of his thoughts to those who are present: that there has been an intervention of an adverse power. Its name is the devil, this mysterious being that the Letter of St. Peter also alludes to. So many times, furthermore, in the Gospel, on the lips of Christ himself, the mention of this enemy of men returns. The Holy Father observes, “We believe in something that is preternatural that has come into the world precisely to disturb, to suffocate the fruits of the Ecumenical Council, and to impede the Church from breaking into the hymn of joy at having renewed in fullness its awareness of itself. Precisely for this reason, we should wish to be able, in this moment more than ever, to exercise the function God assigned to Peter, to strengthen the Faith of the brothers. We should wish to communicate to you this charism of certitude that the Lord gives to him who represents him though unworthily on this earth.” Faith gives us certitude, security, when it is based upon the Word of God accepted and consented to with our very own reason and with our very own human spirit. Whoever believes with simplicity, with humility, sense that he is on the good road, that he has an interior testimony that strengthens him in the difficult conquest of the truth. (http://jimmyakin.typepad.com/defensor_fidei/2006/11/the_smoke_of_sa.html)
I do not doubt for a minute the vision of Pope Leo XIII, and lament the fact that the short prayer to St. Michael is not said at the end of Ordinary Rite; what I doubt (and reject) is the mythical embellishment given to the vision which suggests that our Lord said He will permit Satan to destroy the Church. Rubbish; He would have told Satan, “give it your best shot”, without for a minute conceding that he would prevail.

The gates of hell will not prevail against the visible divine institution of the Mystical Body of Christ on earth – period and de fide, and anyone who says otherwise speaks heresy.

This is how this Prayer came to be written: It is said that one day having celebrated the Holy Sacrifice, the aged Pontiff Leo XIII was in conference with the Cardinals. Suddenly he sank to the floor in a deep swoon. Physicians who hastened to his side feared that he had already Expired, for they could find no trace of his pulse. However, after a short interval the Holy Father rallied, and opening his eyes exclaimed with great emotion: "Oh what a horrible picture I was permitted to see!" He had been shown in-Spirit the Tremendous Activities of the Evil Spirits and their Ravings against the Church. But in the midst of this Vision of Horror he had also beheld Consoling Visions of the Glorious Archangel Michael, who had appeared and cast Satan and his Legions back into the Abyss of Hell. Soon afterward he composed the well-known Prayer.

We know that the Gates of Hell shall never prevail against the Church, for Our Lord has promised to be with Her till the End of Time, but we must do our part in defending Her cause. God might cast the Angels down to Hell by a Single (1) Act of His will, but He chose rather to send against them His Armies of Loyal Spirits, under the Leadership of the great Saint Michael. So too, in the present Critical Times, He could confound the Enemies of the Church by merely Willing to do so. But He Wills, rather, that we should Cooperate in Her Defense, under the Leadership of the great Prince of the Heavenly Hosts. (http://www.copiosa.org/prayer/st_michael.htm)
Pope John Paul II:

May Prayer Strengthen us for the Spiritual Battle we are told about in the Letter to the Ephesians: 'Draw Strength from the Lord and from His Mighty Power' (Ephesians 6:10). The Book of Revelation refers to this same Battle, recalling before our eyes the Image of Saint Michael the Archangel (Revelation 12:7). Pope Leo XIII certainly had a very Vivid Recollection of this scene when, at the End of the Last Century, he introduced a Special Prayer to Saint Michael throughout the Church. Although this Prayer is no longer recited at the end of Mass, I ask everyone not to forget it and to recite it to obtain help in the Battle against Forces of Darkness and against the Spirit of this World.

Also

In October 3, 1984 (JPll) released Quattuo Abhinc Annos - And I quote:

" The diocesan bishop may allow those who are explicity named in a petition submitted to him to celebrate Mass by use of the 1962 editio typica of the Roman Missal."

This also happened before the 100 year anniversity of the vision of Pope Leo XIII
